End of Course Exams
An end of course exam will be held at the end of each level which will measure the four main language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and the sub-skills that support those main skills (i.e. grammar). Those who become successful in the exam will earn the right to start the next level course. Those who fail the test will have to retake the same course.
- Candidates have to participate in the Placement Test before starting the classes.
- The placement test is free of charge.
- Course fees are paid in Turkish Liras.
- In order to take advantage of the discounts offered by ISTE-SEM, candidates should present the necessary documents during registration.
- Opening a Turkish course at a certain level requires the registration of at least seven candidates.
- The End of Course Examination is administered during the last four hours of each level course. Those who become successful in the exam continue to the next level. Those who fail are offered a second chance and those who fail in the second trial have to repeat the same level course and repay the course fee. The criterion to be considered successful in the end of course exam is 60 out of 100. Candidates do not have to score above 60 in each skill but rather have their average score above 60.
- Students who successfully complete the courses are awarded a certificate signed and approved by the ISTE-SEM Director.
- There is an 80 % participation requirement in the courses. Those who fail to meet the attendance requirement are not allowed to take the end of course exam and no refunds are given for the days and hours of lessons that are missed by the candidates.
